Whole yards, designed by Steve and built in the order they have to go in: the ground and the drainage, then the walls, rock and patios, then the planting, turf and irrigation.
A sketch, a few photos or just an idea is plenty. Steve reads every one himself.
Everything Earth is a landscaping company based in Salmon Arm, BC, that designs and builds full landscapes across the Shuswap: Salmon Arm, Blind Bay, Sorrento, Eagle Bay, Sicamous and the communities around them. Owner Steve Slubowski designs every project himself and runs it on site. We build a yard in the order it has to go in: grading and drainage, then retaining walls and rock work, then patios and paths, then planting, turf and irrigation. Fully insured, with a limited 500-day workmanship warranty.
Everything from bare ground to a finished yard, in one job and under one number. Doing it in order matters. Planting and lawn go in last, because everything underneath them has to be right first: if the grade sends water toward the house or behind a wall, no amount of nice planting fixes it later.
Excavation, grading and drainage, so water leaves the yard instead of pooling against the house or soaking the soil behind a wall. Our excavator operator Dale has around 40 years on the machine. It's the part nobody sees and everybody regrets skipping.
The backbone of the yard and the work we're best known for: retaining walls that hold the grade, boulders, rock gardens and dry riverbeds, and paver patios, walkways and steps laid on a base that stays flat.
Cedars, shrubs, trees and flower beds, real lawn or low-maintenance artificial turf, underground irrigation, crushed gravel paths, and on some jobs landscape lighting or a water feature. That's what our customers' own reviews describe, below.
No. A rough sketch, a few saved photos or just an idea is enough. Steve walks the property with you, takes your ideas and adds his own, then gives you a written number before anything starts. Customers tell us the finished yard came out better than they imagined, and the design side is the part of the job Steve takes the most pride in.
"We provided Steve with a rough landscape sketch along with some internet photos of what our plan for our backyard might look like. Steve then took our ideas and offered additional suggestions to bring our plan to reality. Steve and his team worked their professional 'magic' and hard work, completing the project on time as promised and within budget."
Every photo here is our own work in the Shuswap.
Retaining walls, a flagstone patio, artificial turf and custom landscape lighting on one property.
Lawn, decorative rock, planting, irrigation and a custom water feature on a Salmon Arm lakeshore.
A winding gravel path through new planting beds, set boulders and a cedar row.
Slab steps climbing a slope through planted beds and feature boulders.
A curved paver walkway laid through freshly built lawn.
A paver patio with low-maintenance artificial turf worked into it.
"Steve was by far the best landscaper I've hired. He was very cheerful everytime I spoke with him and he was very proud of his work. As he should be! The quote didn't go over budget and he did an amazing job!"
"All of the existing gravel was removed and replaced with a variety of shrubs, trees and flowers with a variety of textures and colours. The relatively small area was transformed with crushed gravel pathways that all of [our] neighbours (and us) thought looked fantastic."
"A weed-infested mud yard was transformed into an incredibly beautiful yard, front and back. Complete with cedar trees, rock works, flower garden, grass, and an incredible water rock fountain with paving walkway and patio."
"Steve and his team installed our turf, underground irrigation, some large rock features and large grass accents. Their work is high quality and we were thrilled with the end result. We were looking for ideas on design and layout and Steve had great ideas that really elevated our landscaping."
"We went from having an overgrown back yard with a sketchy wooden deck to a beautiful paver patio with low maintenance turf and rock pathways. My only regret is that I didn't get them here sooner."
"I had a general idea of my landscaping plan, but Steve just filled in my creative gaps and created the most beautiful yard. Everyone comments on my beautiful landscaping."
Full builds are something we take on for select projects, and the stonework is the backbone of every one. If your project is mostly a wall, some rock or a patio, start with those pages: retaining walls, rock work or paver patios. We don't do lawn maintenance, mowing or small tidy-up jobs, so every day we have goes into building things that last.
Based in Salmon Arm, and out in Blind Bay and Eagle Bay most days.

No. We build landscapes; we don't maintain them. No mowing, lawn care or small odd jobs, so all our time goes into building.
Yes, as part of a full build: cedars, shrubs, trees and flower beds, real lawn or low-maintenance artificial turf, and underground irrigation, alongside the retaining walls, rock work and patios.
Any retaining wall over 1.2 m (about 4 ft) needs a building permit and a design by a registered professional, from the City of Salmon Arm inside city limits or from the Columbia Shuswap Regional District outside them. We handle that, and if you're not sure what applies to your property, send us the address and we'll check. The wall rules are on our retaining walls page.

Yes. We stand behind our workmanship with a limited 500-day warranty.
